Noguchi-Inspired Light Sculptures
Create a one-of-a-kind paper lampshade or lantern in this drop-in art-making program inspired by Isamu Noguchi’s iconic Akari paper light sculptures. Participants can experiment with shape, pattern, and light while exploring how Noguchi combined traditional craftsmanship with a modern artistic approach. The activity is led by PEM art educators and connects to the exhibition *Isamu Noguchi: “I am not a designer,”* where the Akari sculptures are on view.
