Andrew Yee's Trans Requiem
Coro Allegro presents the Boston premiere of Andrew Yee’s *Trans Requiem*, a choral work created for trans voices, mixed chorus, and string orchestra. The concert features two-time GRAMMY Award-winning cellist and composer Andrew Yee, soprano Breanna Sinclairé, and tenor Sam Crosby-Schmidt. The work celebrates the beauty, resilience, and diversity of trans lives, while making space to mourn those lost, honor survival, and imagine a future in which trans people are cherished and respected.
The program also includes Ola Gjeilo’s *Sunrise Mass*. During the concert, Coro Allegro will present its Pinkham Award to Giselle Byrd, executive director of The Theater Offensive and co-chair of Boston’s Trans Day of Remembrance vigil. *Trans Requiem* was commissioned and premiered by Trinity Church in New York City in 2025.
