Letterpress Printing on Fabric Workshop
This one-day, hands-on workshop introduces participants to the traditional craft of printing designs on fabric with letterpress equipment. Led by Mitchel Ahern at the Museum of Printing, the session covers a wide selection of fabrics, inks, and impression methods, with each participant printing their own designs on provided flour-sack dish towels.
The workshop also explores working in color and achieving proper registration. Participants who practice linoleum block cutting are encouraged to bring their own blocks or other work for printing, while Mitchel will show examples of his fabric letterpress work, including dishtowels, canvases, and large horizontal and vertical scrolls. Pizza lunch is provided, and attendance is limited.
