Haydn's The Creation
Haydn’s *The Creation* is a Boston Symphony Orchestra presentation of Joseph Haydn’s celebrated oratorio for solo voices, chorus, and orchestra. Inspired by the biblical creation story in Genesis, the work reflects humanity’s enduring questions about the origins of the universe and showcases Haydn’s inventive musical imagination.
The performance is part of the BSO’s broader Creation festival, which explores faith, spirituality, and the many ways artists interpret humanity’s beginnings. The festival also includes a separate BSO-commissioned work by Osvaldo Golijov and David Henry Hwang. Haydn’s oratorio is sung in German with English supertitles.
