Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Company: Collage Revisited and Story/
The Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Company returns to the ICA with a two-part program centered on history, artistic legacy, and ongoing experimentation. The performance pairs *Collage Revisited*, a reworking of the company’s 1988 collaboration *The History of Collage*, with *Story/*, a newer work shaped by chance and musical structure.
*Collage Revisited* revisits the final collaboration between Bill T. Jones and Arnie Zane before Zane’s death. Blending dance, music, and spoken word, the piece reflects on identity and the artists’ efforts to rethink dance spectacle within the 1980s art world. *Story/* continues the company’s exploration of John Cage’s *Indeterminacy*, using a randomly selected sequence of movements alongside Franz Schubert’s *String Quartet No. 14*, known as *Death and the Maiden*, to create an evolving relationship between sound and motion.
