Compagnie Hervé Koubi

Compagnie Hervé Koubi presents the Boston premiere of *Sol Invictus*, a work that fuses contemporary dance, capoeira, and urban movement into powerful, gravity-defying choreography. Inspired by the ancient Roman deity of the “invincible sun,” the performance explores love as a foundation for peace and suggests that human connection can endure even in times of division.

Set to music by Mikael Karlsson, with excerpts by Steve Reich and Maxime Bodson, *Sol Invictus* is a radiant meditation on light, solidarity, and the bonds that bring people together. The dancers’ acrobatic partnering, airborne movements, spinning, and highly controlled physicality have been praised for transforming movement into something both poetic and monumental. The performance also opens The Platform.
