The Boston Symphony Orchestra and ICA/Boston present Sudan Archives: Any Shape I Want
Sudan Archives presents *Any Shape I Want* at the Institute of Contemporary Art/Boston in a co-production with the Boston Symphony Orchestra, as part of the BSO’s Creation Festival. The performance explores freedom of movement between instruments, identities, and imagined selves through violin loops, voice, storytelling, and projected video.
Staged across six stations corresponding to four-hour sections of a single day, Sudan Archives moves through a complete 24-hour cycle in real time. As the projected imagery changes with each hour, she reworks songs from her catalog and constructs a private, evolving universe that audiences are invited to enter. The piece reflects the festival’s focus on origin and transformation, and has received praise for its inventive fusion of sound and narrative.
