That Motown Band
That Motown Band brings the enduring sound of Motown to the Regent Theatre, performing beloved songs associated with Smokey Robinson, Marvin Gaye, The Temptations, The Supremes, and The Four Tops. The show celebrates classics including “Heat Wave,” “Ain’t Too Proud to Beg,” “Baby Love,” “What’s Going On,” “Can’t Help Myself,” “I Second That Emotion,” and “My Girl.”
The ensemble features vocalist Garfield Fleming, whose 25-year tenure with The Delfonics included performing alongside William Hart. Known for his resemblance to David Ruffin and his interpretations of artists such as Bobby Womack and Ruffin, Fleming also performs material from his solo career, including his 1981 single “Please Don’t Send Me Away.” Musical director Tom Schizzano leads the band as a multi-instrumentalist, arranger, vocalist, and producer. His credits include work for CBS/Paramount, Disney, PBS, and NBC/Universal, live performances with Hall & Oates, Cyndi Lauper, Lou Christie, and Paul Shaffer, and production or arranging for The Tokens and Jimmy Clanton.
