Spotlight Tour: Disavowed, with Julianne Wu ’28
Spotlight Tour: Disavowed, led by Harvard undergraduate Julianne Wu ’28, examines how people and institutions reject, conceal, or challenge authority through three works in the Harvard Art Museums’ collections. The conversational tour considers Bearded Man, Possibly Emperor Macrinus, Max Beckmann’s Self-Portrait in Tuxedo, and Franz Kline’s High Street.
Spotlight Tours are researched and led by Harvard students from a range of academic disciplines. Each tour offers a student-selected thematic perspective on the collections and generally focuses on three works. The program is supported by the Ho Family Student Guide Fund, which trains Student Guides in visual analysis, critical thinking, public speaking, and leadership.
