The Room

The Room is Tommy Wiseau’s famously “so-bad-it’s-good” cult film, written, directed, produced, and headlined by Wiseau. The story follows Johnny, whose relationship is thrown into turmoil when the woman he loves begins an affair with another man. Along the way, Johnny serves as mentor to a drug-dealing man-child, spends time with a dog enthusiast, and delivers an unusually memorable giggle.

The film has developed a devoted late-night following, with celebrities including Paul Rudd, David Cross, and Jonah Hill counted among its fans. After remaining a Los Angeles secret for years, it became a regular East Coast cult favorite and has been presented at the Coolidge for its uniquely chaotic charms.
