Lizard Lounge Poetry Jam-William James

The Lizard Lounge Poetry Jam features poet William James, also known as Bill Stambaugh, on November 29. A performer, actor, director, teacher, and coach, James encourages self-confidence among the poets and actors he mentors. He began writing during his college years and was drawn to performing from an early age.

James first appeared as a featured poet at the Lizard Lounge in November 2025. After attending rehearsals by a poetry group at a theater where his wife served as president, he became involved with the group and has remained active in its work. At the weekly Sunday poetry events, he serves as a timekeeper, scorekeeper, co-host, and occasional Lizard Lounge Slam Team coach. He describes the poetry community as a source of pride and inspiration.
