Spotlight Tour: Child’s Play, with Ricardo Fernandes Garcia ’27
Ricardo Fernandes Garcia ’27 leads this conversational Spotlight Tour exploring how artists have used images of innocence and childhood to address conflict and war. The tour considers three works in the Harvard Art Museums collection, moving from a childhood scene to toys and imaginative play.
Spotlight Tours are created and led by Harvard undergraduates across a range of academic disciplines. Each student selects the works and develops a thematic interpretation of the collection; tours generally focus on three objects and last about 45 minutes. This program is supported by the Ho Family Student Guide Fund, which trains students to create research-based tours and build skills in visual analysis, critical thinking, public speaking, and leadership.
