Killer Joe

Killer Joe is William Friedkin’s darkly comic crime thriller about a desperate young man who turns to murder-for-hire after falling into debt. Chris, a 22-year-old in financial trouble with a drug lord, plans to collect his mother’s $50,000 life-insurance payout by having her killed, with the money intended to benefit his sister, Dottie. He recruits Joe Cooper, a volatile Dallas police officer who secretly works as a contract killer. When Chris cannot pay Joe’s fee in advance, Joe takes Dottie as collateral, pushing the family’s already twisted plan into increasingly dangerous territory.
