Author Talk: Sandy Bailey - She's On to Something
Sandy Bailey discusses her debut novel, *She’s On to Something*, a high-stakes mystery about Jaye Brannigan, a determined SEC prosecutor who uncovers a church-based investment scheme that is taking millions from working-class families. As Jaye traces the fraud from Boston to New Mexico, she exposes religious patriarchy, financial wrongdoing, and offshore dealings while facing threats from a hostile administration and the complications of falling for a magnetic woman.
Bailey will appear in conversation with her wife, Liz Nania, who inspired the novel’s character Rose. The program is presented with Rozzie Bound, and copies of the book will be available for purchase. Bailey draws on her own background as a former freight and passenger train engineer, carpenter, prosecutor, and white-collar-crime investigator in New Mexico, Boston, and Washington, D.C.
