Boston Conservatory Wind Ensemble: America at 250
The Boston Conservatory Wind Ensemble presents *America at 250* at Sam Adams Park at Faneuil Hall. The concert commemorates the nation’s 250th anniversary through music by four American composers, examining revolution, historical memory, expansive landscapes, architecture, and the shared experience of life in contemporary America.
The program begins with William Schuman’s variation overture on “Chester,” the Revolutionary-era song by Boston-born composer William Billings. It continues with David Maslanka’s serene *Montana Music: Chorale Variations*, selected in recognition of Montana’s statehood anniversary, and Michael Gilbertson’s *Usonian Dwellings*, inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright’s architecture and relationship to the natural world. The performance concludes with the world premiere of a new chamber symphony by Kevin Krumenauer. The concert is part of Boston Conservatory at Berklee’s 2026–2027 Center Stage collection.
