Exhibition: Monsters & Myths

“Monsters & Myths” is an open exhibition at Salem Arts Association’s Pickering Wharf gallery, inviting members and nonmembers to explore creatures, legends, supernatural beings, and the stories that shape our ideas of mystery and fear. The exhibition draws on Salem’s history of witchcraft and supernatural tales while also welcoming interpretations inspired by personal experiences, cultural traditions, folklore, classic literature, and modern anxieties.

The show presents artists’ varied visions of the eerie and extraordinary, including ancient legends, fantastical creatures, and personal “phantoms” that haunt the imagination.

When: Saturday, September 19 through Saturday, November 7, 2026

Opening Reception: Friday, September 18, 2026, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Gallery Hours: Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays, from 12:00 to 6:00 p.m.
