Sanctuary’s Big Band Christmas
Sanctuary’s Big Band Christmas is a holiday concert featuring high-powered vocal and instrumental seasonal favorites designed to be exciting, inspirational, and fun. The Compaq Big Band brings a large ensemble sound with 14 horns, a lively rhythm section, vocalists, and instrumental soloists, offering a festive program intended to put even the most determined Grinch in the Christmas spirit.
The band’s repertoire extends beyond traditional swing to include ballads, foxtrots, Latin-tempo pieces, familiar jazz charts, and more progressive selections. Its extensive library includes more than 2,000 printed and scanned titles, with new and archived music continually added to its performance books. The group performs throughout Greater Boston, Greater Worcester, Rhode Island, and Southern New Hampshire, including concerts, nightclub engagements, dances, celebrations, and fundraisers.
