Roy Ward Baker’s 1956 British crime film follows a group of former soldiers turned street buskers as they search for their missing leader. What begins as a treasure hunt develops into a story of murder, pursuit, and escape through a fog-shrouded London rendered as a menacing, Bosch-like landscape.
The film will be presented on 35mm as part of the Harvard Film Archive’s *Great Expectations: British Postwar Cinema, 1945–1960* series.
