Laugh Out Loud

Thu, Nov 5, 2026 – Sun, Nov 15, 2026
267 East Main Street, Gloucester, MA 01930
Price not available
Featuring: Cape Ann Shakespeare Troupe

Cape Ann Shakespeare Troupe opens its 2026–27 season with *Laugh Out Loud*, a program of three modern one-act comedies. The collection ranges from a satirical search for the perfect partner to a family dispute that turns into a courtroom-style showdown and a classic farce filled with escalating mishaps.

In *Base Model Man*, directed by Alexis Armstrong, a woman visits a dealership to shop for an ideal man, complete with optional upgrades such as a willingness to share housework and the ability to listen. *Who Ate the Cheetos?*, directed by Billy Lewand, is an eight-minute comedy in which a seemingly simple family mystery becomes an intense confrontation reminiscent of *A Few Good Men*. Peter Shaffer’s *Black Comedy*, directed by Mark Efinger, follows a young artist and his fiancée as they secretly furnish their apartment with a neighbor’s costly antiques. When the electricity goes out just as a suspicious neighbor, nervous spinster, talkative electrician, an old girlfriend, and the fiancée’s intimidating military father arrive, the situation spirals into comic chaos.
