Grateful Tuesdays

Grateful Tuesdays presents Dead Ahead, a high-energy band rooted in the music of the Grateful Dead. The group combines classic songs and deep cuts with original material, drawing additional inspiration from Little Feat and the Allman Brothers Band. Their performances are built around extended jams, vocal harmonies, medleys, improvisation, and unexpected musical turns, so each show offers a different experience.

Dead Ahead began its New England run in fall 2024 and became known through its weekly Sanctuary residency in Maynard. The band features the husband-and-wife guitar team Ryan and Sonya Rae Taylor, whose playing brings together slide guitar, soulful vocals, songwriting, and raw instrumental energy. The full ensemble also includes Alex MacDougall on drums and vocals, Justin Lopes on keyboards, Matt Caporale on bass, Joe Peck on guitar and vocals, and Brendan Tommaney on percussion.
