Discovering the Galápagos
Discover the Galápagos is a National Geographic Live presentation featuring National Geographic Explorer and disease ecologist Sarah Knutie. The program introduces audiences to remarkable Galápagos wildlife, including blue-footed boobies, hammerhead sharks, giant tortoises, and other species, while exploring the science being conducted across the islands’ air, land, and sea.
Knutie discusses her research on invasive parasites affecting Darwin’s finches, shark nurseries, and the broader challenges of studying and protecting Galápagos ecosystems. National Geographic Live brings explorers’ fieldwork to the stage through personal stories, scientific insight, and photography.
