Marshall Crenshaw

Marshall Crenshaw performs live at City Winery Boston with Sarah Borges and Eric Ambel. Known for finely crafted, guitar-driven songwriting, Crenshaw has released more than thirteen albums and built a catalog that includes “Someday, Someway,” “Cynical Girl,” and “Whenever You’re On My Mind,” along with deeper cuts for longtime listeners.

Born in Detroit in 1953, Crenshaw began learning guitar as a child and first gained major attention playing John Lennon in *Beatlemania* in New York, on the West Coast, and with the national touring company. After moving on from the production in 1980, he settled in New York and recorded “Something’s Gonna Happen” with producer Alan Betrock. That led to his signing with Warner Bros. and the release of his acclaimed 1982 debut album, which also featured “(You’re My) Favorite Waste of Time.”
