MITHAS presents Vignesh Ishwar
MITHAS presents Vignesh Ishwar in an exceptional Carnatic vocal recital featuring South Indian classical music. Ishwar is known for his powerful voice, precise shruti alignment, and an approach that combines deep respect for tradition with imaginative interpretation. His performance is expected to include expressive renditions of kritis, extended raga alapana, neraval, kalpana swaras, and intricate rhythmic work.
The concert is presented by MIT Heritage Arts of South Asia (MITHAS), an organization dedicated to preserving and sharing South Asian classical dance, theater, and music with the MIT community and the wider New England region. Founded in 1993 by MIT Music Senior Lecturer George Ruckert, MIT alumnus Moez Rawji, and Donald Chand, MITHAS highlights the breadth and refinement of these long-standing artistic traditions.
