Featuring: Mike Benjamin, The Bend In The Road Band

Mike Benjamin & The Bend In The Road Band return to The Fallout Shelter for their third appearance within a year, bringing a roots-driven blend of Americana, New Orleans funk, Delta blues, and classic rock. Their sound combines the melodic songwriting and vocal character of Little Feat, Steely Dan, and The Beatles with influences from The Meters, the Grateful Dead, the Allman Brothers, Paul Simon, and the Neville Brothers.

Cambridge-born Mike Benjamin began by busking in Harvard Square and Boston subways before working as a vocalist and guitarist in New York, where he recorded national commercials and performed on the club circuit. After moving to Martha’s Vineyard, he joined Entrain and later formed the Mike Benjamin Band, releasing *Never Too Late* and *Backyard*. His career has included performances with Mark Cohn, Delbert McClinton, Patti LaBelle, Paul Shaffer, Bo Diddley, the Blues Brothers Band, and Susan Tedeschi, as well as an appearance at Seth Meyers’ wedding, where Brad Paisley joined the band for the couple’s first dance.
