Popcorn

Popcorn is a horror film and a darkly comic tribute to the moviegoing experience. In the film, a group of students organizes an elaborate horror marathon in a deserted cinema, only to become targets of a killer who turns the event’s theatrical tricks and props against them. The movie combines slasher thrills with satire and an affectionate nod to the gimmick-driven work of William Castle.

The screening is presented by Night Light as part of its series of classic and contemporary cult films from around the world. This 1991 American film is directed by Mark Herrier and Alan Ormsby and stars Dee Wallace, Derek Rydall, Jill Schoelen, Tom Villard, Malcolm Danare, Elliott Hurst, Ivette Soler, and Freddie Simpson.
