Dead Ahead Presents - The Last Waltz

Dead Ahead Presents “The Last Waltz” brings the New England jam band Dead Ahead to Sanctuary’s Main Hall. The group emerged from a weekly residency at The Sanctuary in Maynard in 2024 and is known for energetic performances rooted in the Grateful Dead, with influences from Little Feat and the Allman Brothers Band. Their repertoire combines familiar Dead songs, deeper cuts, original material, soaring harmonies, extended jams, and unexpected musical turns.

The band features husband-and-wife guitarists Ryan and Sonya Rae Taylor, with Ryan contributing expressive slide guitar and Sonya Rae adding vocals, guitar, and experience as a former Nashville staff songwriter. Alex MacDougall performs on drums and vocals, joined by keyboardist Justin Lopes, bassist Matt Caporale, guitarist and vocalist Joe Peck, and percussionist Brendan Tommaney. Their improvisational approach and constantly changing setlists mean that no two performances are alike.
