Safe Streets By Law - Launching the Boston Cyclists Union's New Campaign for a Safe Streets Ordinance
This community meeting launches the Boston Cyclists Union’s campaign for a Boston Safe Streets Ordinance. The discussion will focus on the city’s transportation infrastructure and the need for stronger accountability after stalled safer-streets projects, removal of bicycle infrastructure, and unclear communication between City Hall and the public.
The event will invite attendees to help build public support for an ordinance, suggest what it should include, and learn ways to participate in the advocacy campaign. The organizers point to Cambridge’s Cycling Safety Ordinance and Somerville’s Safe Streets Ordinance as examples of legislation that has helped advance bicycle infrastructure.
