Jim Messina

Jim Messina, a foundational figure in country rock and a major force behind Poco and Loggins & Messina, performs a selection of music from his five-decade career. His work spans recording, producing, engineering, songwriting, touring, and a celebrated solo career.

Messina began as a producer and audio engineer for Buffalo Springfield before joining the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame group as bassist. After Buffalo Springfield disbanded, he co-founded Poco with Richie Furay, helping establish the country-rock sound as the band’s lead guitarist. He later returned to producing and was paired with an emerging Kenny Loggins at Columbia Records. Their collaboration on *Kenny Loggins with Jim Messina Sittin’ In* led to the formation of Loggins & Messina, who released eight hit albums, sold more than 16 million records, and became one of rock’s most successful duos.

After the duo separated, Messina toured acoustically before forming The Road Runners, a band of acclaimed musicians who have performed with him at different points in his career. The group’s latest live album is *Here, There & Everywhere*. Messina continues touring nationally, revisiting his musical history while exploring the next phase of his career.
