Nowhere to Go
Nowhere to Go is a 1958 British crime thriller directed by Seth Holt. This austere, tightly controlled film follows an escaped convict who is trying to recover stolen money held in a safety-deposit box, creating a chilly portrait of an antihero pursued through a hostile world. The screenplay was co-written by renowned critic Kenneth Tynan, and the film features Maggie Smith in her feature-film debut.
The screening is presented on 35mm as part of the Harvard Film Archive’s *Great Expectations: British Postwar Cinema, 1945–1960* series.
