Vivid Images
Vivid Images brings together three orchestral works that portray vivid, imaginative worlds. Richard Strauss’s mischievous tone poem follows the pranks of Till Eulenspiegel, Claude Debussy’s *La Mer* evokes the changing character of the sea, and Giya Kancheli’s *Styx* depicts the passage across the River Styx to the land of the dead. The program features Lexington Symphony principal violist Emily Rideout and the New World Chorale, led by Artistic Director Holly Krafka.
A pre-concert conductor’s talk is scheduled before the performance. The concert is sponsored by Kate and Gordon Baty, with Rideout’s solo appearance sponsored by the Playing Members of the Viola Section.
