Eliza Edens & Nora Meier

Eliza Edens celebrates the release of *Death Drive*, their first full-length record in four years, with a performance at The Lilypad. The Brooklyn-based songwriter’s indie-rock sound draws from pop, folk, country, and rock, combining electric guitars, drums, keys, saxophone, and electronic percussion with songs about grief, love, tenderness, and recovery. Local songwriter Nora Meier opens the evening.

Edens began by touring the DIY songwriter circuit and released *Time Away From Time* in 2020 and *We’ll Become the Flowers* in 2022. After the death of their mother in 2024 and a period away from touring, Edens returned with the 2025 voice-memo collection *it’s your birthday & you’re gorgeous*. *Death Drive* reflects that experience, balancing the weight of grief with joy, humor, love, and the sensation of rebuilding while losing control. Edens was also a 2024 runner-up in the Telluride Troubadour Songwriting competition and has received attention from Paste, The Nashville Scene, Spill Magazine, and Americana UK.

Meier is a songwriter whose work combines close observation, humor, warmth, and a candid view of everyday life. Her music is moving toward a more forceful and embodied style after the softer approach of her 2024 debut album, *Outfield*. Her song “Bird in the Hand,” influenced by writers such as Jeff Tweedy and Lucinda Williams, was produced and mixed by Don Mitchell of Darlingside and mastered by Andrew Goldring. It was released on May 29, 2026.
