Chop It Up with Chef Jermaine McNeil!
Join Executive Chef Jermaine McNeil for a hands-on cooking workshop focused on making chopped cheese sliders. Ingredients and other materials will be supplied, and advance registration is not required. The program is intended for teenagers and includes an introduction to Chef McNeil’s culinary background and work with Boston youth.
McNeil credits his grandmother, Alice, as his earliest culinary inspiration. After taking his first cooking class at the Boys and Girls Club, he learned to cook for himself and developed from making English muffin pepperoni pizzas into the “pork chop kid” at home. He later earned his GED, completed the Teaching Kitchen culinary training program in 2011, and worked in kitchens and food-service roles at Fenway Park, HeadStart, Boston University, Cristo Rey High School, and Community Servings. He now runs All Forked Up catering and teaches young people through the Kitchen Kreators program at the Gallivan Community Center and Davis Leadership Academy.
