Storytelling: "On the Corner"
Storytelling: “On the Corner” is the fourth session in a four-part Boston Public Library program led by Linda. The workshop explores how true, heartfelt stories—whether uplifting, poignant, or humorous—can help people connect with one another and find meaning in their experiences.
Participants will learn the fundamentals of storytelling, including how to shape a compelling narrative arc and develop a performance style that makes a story engaging and memorable. They will write and refine a story during class, practice telling it, and receive feedback from the instructor and other participants. The program’s theme, “On the Corner,” invites stories about a place, a choice, a boundary, a point of view, or something just beyond sight. No story idea is required in advance; Linda will help participants find one. Attendees are also encouraged to work on and practice their stories between classes.
