The Blue Ribbons/Housatonic Speed Equipment
The Blue Ribbons return to the Lizard Lounge for a live performance with Housatonic Speed Equipment. The Blue Ribbons’ music draws on pop songwriting while disrupting its polished surfaces with noisy, unconventional arrangements. Their latest album, *Forever, But Not For Long*, deconstructs its melodies and hooks rather than treating the songs as untouchable.
Housatonic Speed Equipment is a Boston rock trio led by bassist and vocalist Nate McBride, with Mike Castellana on guitar and Andy Plaisted on drums and engineering. Their sound combines noise, flexibility, and rough-edged rock influences ranging from Hank Williams to Alex Chilton. The group’s recorded work includes the Bandcamp EP *A Strategy For Finding Volume*.
