The Art of Everyday Things: Age Strong Painting Workshop
The Art of Everyday Things: Age Strong Painting Workshop is the eighth and final session in an eight-week series at the Mattapan library. Led by artist and community leader Joseph M. Chéry, the welcoming workshop invites participants to turn ordinary objects into extraordinary artwork while exploring painting, creativity, and self-expression.
Participants will create landscapes, still lifes, and collaborative abstract pieces using traditional art supplies and everyday materials. The class is designed for both beginners and people returning to a longtime interest in painting, with an emphasis on learning, connection, experimentation, and enjoying the creative process. Chéry is the resident curator of the Haitian Artists Assembly of Massachusetts, and his work focuses on how art can bring people together, encourage conversation, and strengthen communities. Supplies and materials are provided.
