Lori Z Jazz Trio: Featuring Lori Zuroff on vocals, Molly Flannery on piano, and Bill McCormack on bass

Lori Z Jazz Trio brings an evening of classic and contemporary jazz and blues to Sanctuary Cultural Arts Center. The trio features Lori Zuroff on vocals, Molly Flannery on piano, and Bill McCormack on bass.

Zuroff has performed throughout the Boston area and beyond for more than 25 years with rock, blues, R&B, and jazz groups. She leads this trio, recorded a jazz CD with a quintet in 2020, and also performs with The Lola Sweet Band and the Steely Dan tribute group Nightflies. Her past work includes Chick Singer Night at Johnny D’s, the Burren, the Mad Monkfish, a blues jam in Acton and Maynard, and Musicians on Call visits to Boston hospitals.

McCormack, originally from Ireland, has played trumpet and bass since childhood. Before moving to the United States, he performed with Irish musicians including Honor Heffernan, Christine Tobin, Stockton’s Wing, and guitarist Louis Stewart’s quartet. He now plays upright and electric bass with musicians across the Boston scene.

Flannery is a Boston-based pianist recognized for her melodic improvisation and work in jazz, Latin, and Brazilian styles. She began piano at age six, studied at Yale, developed her career in Japan, and later studied with prominent jazz musicians in Boston. She has played with Cosmos Factor, led her own quintet, and released two well-received albums.
