Undergraduate Opera Studio: Scenes Program
The Undergraduate Opera Studio presents an evening of short scenes drawn from three major operas, balancing comic moments with dramatic tragedy. The program is designed for both longtime opera enthusiasts and newcomers.
UGOS is NEC’s audition-based opera program for undergraduate voice majors who have completed their first-year promotional examination. The studio introduces students to opera and lyric theater while developing foundational performance skills and familiarity with the expectations of professional singing. The program is led by Artistic Director Michael Meraw, with stage direction by Steven Goldstein and music direction by Justin Williams.
