CYRUS CHESTNUT TRIO

Cyrus Chestnut Trio brings the acclaimed jazz pianist Cyrus Chestnut to Scullers Jazz Club for an evening of soulful, virtuosic music. Chestnut’s style draws on gospel, classical music, and straight-ahead jazz, reflecting both his Baltimore church roots and his decades-long career in recording and performance.

Chestnut grew up in a musical family: his father was a pianist and his mother a singer, and both were active in the church. Gospel’s emotional connection and uplifting spirit remain central to his playing. In addition to his jazz work, he has performed with the Cecilia Chorus of New York and the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, demonstrating his versatility across intimate jazz settings and large classical ensembles.
