Art Exhibition — Rachel King: At the Water's Edge

Rachel King: *At the Water’s Edge* is a photography exhibition at the Jamaica Plain Branch Library, presented by the library in partnership with the Friends of the Jamaica Plain Branch of the Boston Public Library. The exhibition explores seasonal changes along Jamaica Pond through images of waves, melting ice, shifting light, reflections, and other fleeting patterns at the shoreline.

Jamaica Plain artist Rachel King began photographing the pond while working in addiction and recovery, in response to the overdose epidemic and its intensification during COVID-19. What started as documentation of a familiar local landscape developed into a daily photographic journal focused on slowing down, noticing subtle changes, and marking the passage of time. Together, the photographs reflect both the constantly changing shore and the practice of sustained attention.

Showtimes: The exhibition is available during library hours: Monday through Wednesday, 10 a.m.–6 p.m.; Thursday, noon–8 p.m.; and Friday and Saturday, 9 a.m.–5 p.m. The library is closed Sundays.

Opening Reception: Thursday, November 12, 2026, from 5:30–7:30 p.m.
