Pouvwa (World Premiere)

Jean Appolon Expressions presents the world premiere of *Pouvwa* (“Power”), an immersive dance performance about interconnectedness, the misuse of power, and the possibility of creating a more equitable world. The work combines Haitian folkloric dance, Afro-electronic music, live drumming, and visual installations.

The performance features special guest artist Val Jeanty, a Grammy-winning Afro-electronica composer, turntablist, and SoundChemist, along with poet, actor, and playwright Jean Dany Joachim and a collective of dancers and artists. The presentation is supported by the New England Foundation for the Arts’ National Dance Project, with lead funding from the Doris Duke Foundation and the Mellon Foundation, and partial sponsorship from LEAD3R.
