The Scottish Celebration Continues- An Afternoon of Scottish Music and Dance
The Royal Scottish Country Dance Society of Boston presents “The Old World Meets the New,” an afternoon concert and ceilidh continuing Boston’s celebration of Scottish culture. The program combines traditional Scottish music and dance with North American folk influences, followed by opportunities for audience members to join the ceilidh dancing.
Fiddle player Alasdair White and guitarist and vocalist Eric McDonald headline the music lineup. Stephen Thomforde adds pipes, while Highland Dance Boston and the Boston Scottish Country Dancers perform traditional and newly arranged dance pieces. Ceilidh dancing is scheduled during intermission and again after the performance, and everyone is welcome to participate.
