Dweezil Zappa DZ20: Like Father, Like Son
Dweezil Zappa brings the DZ20: Like Father, Like Son tour to Chevalier Theatre in 2026, celebrating two decades of performing the music of his father, the iconic Frank Zappa. The Grammy-winning guitarist has performed more than 2,000 concerts worldwide and is known for interpreting Frank Zappa’s complex, adventurous compositions while also developing his own work across rock, fusion, experimental music, television, film, and entrepreneurship.
Born in Los Angeles on September 5, 1969, Dweezil has released original music including *Confessions of Deprived Youth* and *Via Zammata*. His compositions have been performed by a 100-piece orchestra in Holland, and his career has included collaborations with Edward Van Halen, Deep Purple, Lisa Loeb, Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock, Steve Vai, and other artists. He also founded the multimedia studio Hikari, completed in 2020, and has worked as an audio mix engineer, including on the stereo and Atmos mixes for Deep Purple’s 2024 50th-anniversary reissue of *Machine Head*.
Beyond performing and recording, Dweezil teaches guitar through his Dweezilla music camp and online lessons. His work combines technical virtuosity, original composition, music education, and innovative sound production while preserving and expanding the legacy of Frank Zappa.
