Symphony by the Sea: The Heavenly Life
Symphony by the Sea opens its 45th season with “The Heavenly Life,” a performance of Gustav Mahler’s Symphony No. 4. The work traces a journey from earthly existence toward heavenly bliss, imagining paradise through a child’s eyes with sleigh bells, radiant melodies, and a closing song celebrating the joys of heaven.
Soprano Sara Heaton, a member of the Metropolitan Opera Chorus, appears as guest soloist, and Maestro Donald Palma conducts. Founded in 1981, Symphony by the Sea is a professional orchestra presenting musicians and guest soloists north of Boston.
