Race and Inclusion Book Group: The Boston Way by Mark Kurlansky
This hybrid book group will explore Mark Kurlansky’s *The Boston Way: Radicals Against Slavery & The Civil War*. The book recounts the little-known history of Boston-area pacifists during the Civil War era who opposed slavery and worked to end it without relying on violence or war. It considers how people find the courage to resist and confront profound injustice.
Kevin Murray will facilitate the discussion. Participants must register by email, and a limited number of copies are available through the Roslindale Branch’s Circulation Desk. Copies may also be purchased from community partner Rozzie Bound Books.
