Loving Karma

Sun, Nov 15, 2026at 1:00 PM
7 Medford Street, Arlington, MA 02474
$20

Loving Karma is a feature-length documentary about Lobsang Phuntsok, who was sent to a Tibetan Buddhist monastery as a struggling child and found healing and direction there. After spending years teaching spirituality in the United States, Lobsang returned to his birthplace in the remote Indian Himalayas to establish Jhamtse Gatsal, or “The Garden of Love and Compassion,” a home for children who have experienced hardship.

Inspired by the Dalai Lama’s commitment to compassion, the community demonstrates how suffering can be transformed through care and connection. Expanding on the Emmy-winning short documentary *Tashi and the Monk*, the film revisits Jhamtse Gatsal twelve years later, following Lobsang, Tashi, and newly arrived children as they learn to support one another.
