Vivo Performing Arts: What Makes it Great? with Rob Kapilow
Vivo Performing Arts presents Rob Kapilow’s *What Makes It Great?*, a lively, analytical exploration of Mozart’s Clarinet Concerto. Kapilow combines musical insight, storytelling, historical context, humor, and approachable commentary to reveal how Mozart’s late masterpiece transformed the clarinet into a powerful solo voice within the orchestra.
Kapilow is joined by clarinetist Romie de Guise-Langlois and Boston chamber orchestra A Far Cry. Written only weeks before Mozart’s death at age 35, the concerto is examined in depth and presented in a way intended to change how audiences hear this celebrated work. The program is subject to change.
