Hadestown

Hadestown is an acclaimed musical inspired by two intertwined myths: the young dreamers Orpheus and Eurydice, and the rulers Hades and Persephone. The production follows a love story shaped by fate, music, and the hope of imagining a better world.

Created by singer-songwriter Anaïs Mitchell with original direction by Rachel Chavkin, Hadestown won eight 2019 Tony Awards, including Best Musical, as well as the 2020 Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album. The production is described as a haunting yet hopeful theatrical experience.
