A Special Night of Western Mass Hip-Hop

A Special Night of Western Mass Hip-Hop brings together old-school and new-school underground hip-hop artists from Western Massachusetts. The program features rappers, producers, DJs, and visual artists representing the region’s boom-bap, lo-fi, and independent scenes.

The lineup includes Western Mass hip-hop pioneer Unagi, Northampton rapper and producer Dome Lettuce, Hadley artist Soma79, DJ and multi-instrumentalist DJ Toro Bravo, and Hymn. Unagi’s work draws on dusty samples, boom-bap rhythms, storytelling, and nostalgic themes; his latest album is *Western Mass Hysteria*. Dome Lettuce, the alias of Gabriel Aviv, has released numerous self-produced projects since 2019 and is known for a prolific live and recording presence. Soma79 combines boom-bap intensity with personal themes and surreal visuals, and has collaborated with artists including Kool Keith, Esoteric, Ras Kass, Copywrite, and Elzhi. DJ Toro Bravo is a Greenfield-based producer, engineer, DJ, and multi-instrumentalist who has toured internationally with artists in many genres.
