The Longest Johns: Ends of the Earth Tour
The Longest Johns bring their Ends of the Earth Tour to The Wilbur with exuberant harmonies, driving folk-rock, and a modern approach to traditional sea shanties and work songs. Formed around a kitchen table in Bristol in 2012, the group blends maritime folk, original songwriting, dry humor, digital culture, and gaming influences.
The band gained worldwide attention in 2021 when its rendition of “Wellerman” became a viral TikTok hit, helping launch the global “ShantyTok” revival. Their latest album, *Ends of the Earth*, explores subjects ranging from 18th-century crimes to monsters of the American wilderness while expanding the group’s signature vocal sound. Their 2024 fan-funded album, *Voyage*, was accompanied by a book of original stories, artwork, and lyrics and has surpassed 7 million Spotify streams.
