Jason Carter Band
Jason Carter Band brings a bluegrass performance to Club Passim, led by Kentucky fiddler, singer, and longtime Del McCoury Band member Jason Carter. A three-time Grammy winner and five-time IBMA Fiddle Player of the Year, Carter is also a founding member of the Travelin’ McCourys and has collaborated with artists including Steve Earle, Ricky Skaggs, Dierks Bentley, Charlie Daniels, Vince Gill, Asleep at the Wheel, Jerry Douglas, Sam Bush, Sarah Jarosz, and Billy Strings.
The concert draws on Carter’s forthcoming solo album, *Lowdown Hoedown*, which explores the full range of his musical background. The album includes upbeat fiddle showcases, tender vocal numbers, and darker, reflective songs about subjects such as a Depression-era farmer. Carter grew up playing bluegrass jams, festivals, and campgrounds in Kentucky, began performing professionally with the Goins Brothers after high school, and joined the Del McCoury Band at 19. The performance highlights his decades of touring, recording, and contributing to the evolution of bluegrass.
